Land Acknowledgement

As a platform operated by a Métis woman, this acknowledgment is to lift up the sacred diversity of the original First Peoples and caretakers of this land that we live, work, and thrive on in Taranton, Toronteau, and T’karonto.

We acknowledge we operate on the traditional territory of many nations, including the Attawanderons, the Huron-Wendat, the Anishinaabeg, the Mississaugas of the Credit, and Haudenosaunee. All are home to the Dish With One Spoon—a treaty based on stewardship, reciprocal sharing, and sophisticated governance and healing practices, and is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many Indigenous people from across Turtle Island, including First Nations, Inuit, and Métis.

We acknowledge that we are all treaty people and accept our responsibility to honour all our relations.
